JOB TITLE: Executive Entrance Security Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Executive Entrance Security Specialist is responsible for welcoming and guiding members, guests, and executive personnel as they arrive at the Spectrum Center. This role demands a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and support to all executive personnel and visitors entering the Executive Entrance. The Specialist will also engage in various administrative responsibilities and security functions as required. During periods of renovation at the Spectrum Center, the Executive Entrance Specialist will collaborate with the Building Security team in a rotational capacity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct thorough screenings of all employees, guests, visitors, and clients, ensuring that visitors pass through a metal detector.
- Ensure guests register on the Lobby Guard visitor management system; if the system is unavailable, guests will sign a paper log; notify the relevant staff member upon guest arrival.
- Utilize facial recognition technology and X-ray screening equipment.
- Employ the Punch Alert feature as necessary.
- Maintain the integrity of the facility and the events held within.
- Implement and adhere to policies and procedures throughout the facility on a daily basis.
- Assist in enforcing NBA security protocols.
- Support the orderly evacuation of the building when required: in case of an alarm, facilitate employee exits via stairs; once the building is cleared, communicate with the Security Manager via walkie-talkie until the facility is declared safe for re-entry.
- Coordinate with the Security Console to secure and unsecure the Executive Entrance doors at the start and end of each shift.
- Receive deliveries - Sign for packages intended for Arena/team personnel and use the Staff Directory/email to notify staff.
- Hold packages for collection - Require individuals picking up packages to present valid photo identification and sign the delivery log before releasing the package.
- Ensure Two-way Radio is charged and tuned to the Hornets Security channel for communication with fellow security personnel as needed.
- Monitor arena traffic - Intervene with unidentified guests roaming the facility without proper identification or escort and escort them from the premises; contact appropriate parties if necessary to verify guest legitimacy.
- Wear the uniform provided by the security department at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High School Diploma.
- Two years of security experience preferred.
- Flexibility and adaptability to various situations.
- Ability to pass a background check.
