About the Role

The Gallery Experience Coordinator will provide a positive and welcoming presence for visitors of all ages, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience within the Joan Dignam Schmaltz Gallery of Art. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing Exceptional Guest Services
    • Welcome visitors, respond to inquiries, and provide information about exhibitions and programs.
    • Ensure accurate and efficient handling of public inquiries, comments, and concerns.
  • Ensuring Safety and Security
    • Monitor gallery activities, maintain awareness of unusual or suspicious behavior, and take necessary action to maintain a secure environment.
    • Collaborate with the security team to report security incidents and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
  • Serving as a Liaison
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Schupf Art Center's building manager, ensuring a smooth operation of the gallery space.
    • Communicate with internal stakeholders, including education and engagement staff, to coordinate logistics for public and academic programs.
  • Supporting Programming and Events
    • Assist with logistical arrangements for workshops, training sessions, and community events.
    • Provide support for evening and weekend events, ensuring seamless execution and excellent guest experiences.

    • Passion for art, education, and community engagement.
    • Experience working in a museum or art-related setting is an asset.

    • Ability to think critically, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing situations.
  • Technical Proficiency
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and other relevant software applications.
