Job Title: Administrator On Call

Job Summary:

New Mexico Donor Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrator On Call to oversee the day-to-day operations of organ donation recovery efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in organ donor management and be able to provide clinical expertise, guidance, and development to frontline team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coaching and Development: Provide consistent, evidence-based critical thinking and decision support to frontline team members, utilizing highly developed clinical expertise and advanced knowledge of the organ donation process.
  2. Donor Identification and Evaluation: Interpret hospital policies for determination of neurological death and guide staff to ensure potential donor patients are declared appropriately. Collaborate with Medical Director(s) and other physician consults in evaluating donor suitability and setting appropriate donor case plans.
  3. Resource Management: Provide real-time direction and guidance to staff for donor identification, evaluation, authorization, clinical management, organ allocation, and surgical recovery directed towards maximizing every organ donation opportunity.
  4. Problem Solving and Mentoring: Problem solve with onsite organ team members and provide clinical and logistical expertise in all areas of the donation process. Advise staff when working through operational challenges by providing mentoring, talking points, coaching, and on-site support.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure consistent application and compliance with regulatory standards/requirements as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  6. Performance Improvement: Participate in performance improvement initiatives, identifying trends and supporting formal staff education needs, including involvement in regular case activity review process.
  7. Regulatory Oversight: Provide regulatory oversight and verification of critical aspects of the donation process, such as death notes, hemodilution, increased risk status, serology results, allocation variances, etc.
  8. On-Site Mentoring and Education: Offer on-site mentoring, education, guidance, and support of clinical staff. Work closely with clinical leadership and Training Department to identify training needs and employee development.
  9. Process Improvement: Research and coordinate the implementation of new processes, procedures, and best practices aimed at maximizing the outcome of the organ donation process to achieve organizational goals.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience as an Organ Recovery Coordinator with donor management oversight
  • Bachelor's degree and/or RN/PA/RT/Paramedic certification
  • Valid Driver's License with ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements
  • CPTC certification preferred
