Birth Tissue Recovery Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Birth Tissue Recovery Specialist. This role will play a critical part in our mission to save lives through organ and tissue donation.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate onsite birth tissue recovery initiatives at hospitals and birthing centers, ensuring seamless execution and excellent customer service.
- Initiate donation discussions with new mothers, providing education on the benefits of placenta donation and obtaining informed consent.
- Manage the birth tissue donation process, including determining suitability, acquiring donated tissue, and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with medical personnel, including nurses and obstetricians, to ensure effective communication and successful tissue recovery.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the team's efforts in tissue banking and donation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Two years of experience in tissue banking, surgical operating room, or a related field; AATB Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) and/or EBAA Certified Eye Bank Technician (CEBT) preferred.
- LPN or CNA highly desired.
