Senior Urban Mobility Planner

Compensation Range: $82,319 - $107,000 annually
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Position Overview: The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Senior Urban Mobility Planner to join the Regional Transportation & Innovation Division within the Transportation and Public Works Department. This role will focus on the planning, execution, and management of smart corridors, active transportation initiatives, transit systems, micro-mobility solutions, and other comprehensive transportation planning and project development activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in planning, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in multimodal transportation, land use coordination, NEPA, regional and local planning, engineering, and construction activities.
- At least two (2) years of experience in administrative and supervisory roles.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in planning or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.), American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), or Congress of New Urbanism credentials.
- Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access).
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and administration of the City’s Master Transportation Plan.
- Manage land-use transportation studies at both corridor and sub-regional levels.
- Coordinate intergovernmental projects and policies with various agencies.
- Develop funding applications, including federal discretionary and formal grants.
- Create scopes of work for capital projects leading to engineering, design, and construction.
- Stay informed on best practices in transportation, land use, and smart city initiatives.
- Manage the city’s bicycle and safe street programs.
- Advise city staff, council members, the public, and external stakeholders on transportation planning policies, utilizing data-driven and inclusive approaches.
- Facilitate consensus-building among diverse interests on sensitive transportation projects.
- Prepare written and visual materials for presentations to various audiences.
Working Conditions: Positions in this role may require physical activities such as touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking, and repetitive motions.
Physical Demands: This position typically involves sedentary work, with the potential to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Most tasks will be performed while seated, with walking and standing required only occasionally.
