About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sprinkler System Maintenance Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our fire suppression equipment and sprinkler systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to service calls from our customers, including commercial, industrial, and residential applications, to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and operational manuals to ensure accurate diagnosis and repair of equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with customers and district staff to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Electronically complete service acknowledgements with proper coding and obtain customer signatures.
  • Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 5 years of documented experience in the fire sprinkler/suppression industry, with a strong background in reading and interpreting blueprints and operational manuals.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Able to participate in an on-call rotation schedule, including overnight travel.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
  • Must possess and retain current State Fire Protection License or Journeyman License valid.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET Level II certification.
