Job Summary

Sunshine Avionics LLC, a leading provider of MRO services for advanced avionic component repairs and a HEICO Corporation company, is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join its team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management, with 3-5 years of experience in a procurement role purchasing electronic components. Prior experience with an aerospace or automotive manufacturing company is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish relationships with external vendors, negotiate prices and terms, and manage inventory levels to support production needs.
  • Work with the ERP system to determine order quantities, analyze market and delivery systems, and assess present and future material availability.
  • Support initiatives on lead time reduction, supplier rationalization, material cost reduction, improved payment terms, quality, and delivery.
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy and develop purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials.
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
  • Maintain the Qualified Supplier database and survey suppliers as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or a Purchasing Certification from a recognized professional organization.
  • Proficient in the use of ERP/MRP systems and MS Office software suite, with emphasis on spreadsheet analysis.
  • Sustained dependable attendance and cooperation with others in a team environment.
  • Initiative in learning and changing work methods to accomplish assigned tasks on a timely basis.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Position located in an office environment with occasional exposure to the manufacturing floor.
  • Occasional need to walk up and down stairs and occasional business-related travel.
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Noise level is usually moderate.
