About the Job

MU Health Care is seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and efficient collection, processing, and distribution of patient samples for analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process patient samples for laboratory testing
  • Perform venipuncture, capillary collections, and other specimen collection procedures
  • Prepare and package samples for shipment to reference laboratories
  • Order laboratory tests and acquire ICD-10 codes as needed
  • Communicate with healthcare providers and stakeholders to ensure seamless laboratory operations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Either 6 months of laboratory experience or 60 college equivalent hours, including 24 chemistry hours or 24 science hours
  • Preferred qualifications: some college coursework in a science-related field, chauffeur driver license, and additional license/certification requirements
