Medical Laboratory Scientist II

The Medical Laboratory Scientist plays a vital role in providing high-quality laboratory services to patients and healthcare professionals at Lexington Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing laboratory testing, analyzing results, and communicating findings to healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Perform manual and automated laboratory testing, including blood bank and microbiology procedures.
- Collect and process specimens, including venipunctures and capillary punctures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including instruments and automated analyzers.
- Analyze and interpret laboratory results, identifying abnormal values and communicating findings to healthcare providers.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide patient care and support.
- Four-year diploma in Medical Laboratory Science, Biological Science, or Chemistry from a nationally accredited educational institution.
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MT/MLS) certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent state or governmental certification.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
