About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Development Specialist to join our team at Eckerd Connects. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in supporting the positive transformation of at-risk youth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support to youth in a residential setting, promoting their confidence and self-esteem through various group activities.
  • Lead daily activities, offering individual and group counseling to help youth achieve their goals and develop essential life skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the overall supervision and safety of clients, adhering to crisis intervention and physical restraint techniques.
  • Participate in aquatic activities and maintain a safe environment for clients.
Requirements
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two years' experience working with youth, or a bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Direct care experience in a therapeutic or rehabilitative setting is preferred.
  • Ability to travel and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet Eckerd's auto insurance requirements.
  • Pass a drug screen in compliance with Eckerd's Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
