Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for laying pipe for storm or sanitary sewer, drains, and water mains, as well as configuring pipe routes and ensuring proper installation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lay pipe for storm or sanitary sewer, drains, and water mains
  • Configure pipe routes
  • Align pipes in pipeline sections
  • Set laser at the proper grade for the task at hand
  • Ensure pipe is installed at the proper grade
  • Assist heavy equipment operator in proper depth for the pipe being installed
  • Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned properly to prevent leaks
  • Ensure pipe is backfilled and chalked in properly
  • Ensure trench has all necessary safety equipment in place per OSHA regulations

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly works near moving machinery/tools, requiring good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination
  • Must be able to move quickly and have excellent stamina
  • Must be able to push, pull, or carry objects (over 50 lbs.)
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and climb ladders
