Engage in a range of semi-skilled tasks related to the servicing, upkeep, and repair of hydraulic and various mechanical systems. Execute semi-skilled maintenance and repairs on buildings, necessitating a foundational understanding of carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical work.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Document, track, and uphold essential maintenance logs and reports.
  • Operate based on work orders, schematics, specifications, and both written and verbal directives.
  • Install new or reposition existing machinery, equipment, and related components.
  • Maintain, repair, and service mechanical, hydraulic, and other operational systems.
  • Disassemble, diagnose malfunctioning operations, repair or substitute worn or defective components; reassemble and calibrate for optimal functionality.

Conduct preventive maintenance on all machinery, equipment, and facilities; install switches, lighting fixtures, replace fuses, and rectify faulty wiring; maintain and repair plumbing, roofs, floors, walls, and parking areas.

Oversee grounds maintenance and ensure external facilities and structures are in excellent condition. Repair plant and office infrastructure, furnishings, and similar items. Utilize forklifts, pulleys, and other lifting equipment as necessary to transport and position parts and materials. Identify and report malfunctioning equipment, improper operations, and unusual conditions to management.

Set up and operate grinders, drill presses, and other metalworking tools to fabricate and repair components. Perform electric/acetylene welding and torch cutting tasks.

Possess the authority to halt operations if a safety or quality concern arises, ensuring management is informed for decision-making.

Adhere to all established environmental, health, and safety regulations while maintaining a tidy and organized workspace.

Exercise caution and safety in the operation of power tools, equipment, and materials.



ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic mathematical skills are essential.
  • Proficient in reading and writing.

Demonstrate a willingness to learn and the ability to work independently. Reliability is crucial. Attendance at external training sessions may be required. Completion of an Apprenticeship program within three years, focusing on electrical and hydraulic systems, is expected. Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as necessary is required. Basic mechanical skills are advantageous.


Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to walk, use hands for positioning or movement, reach with hands and arms, communicate, and listen.
  • Frequently required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be capable of lifting 40 lbs. and standing for extended periods, exceeding 8 hours.
