Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Sealed Air Corporation. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rigging and Installation: Assist in the installation of new equipment and relocation of existing equipment, including disconnection and reinstallation of electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing connections.
  • Safety and Compliance: Recognize and correct safety or regulatory violations, consistently follow plant safety policies, and use required PPE in the performance of duties.
  • Fire and Security Systems: Work with the Fire Department, Sprinkler Contractors, and Security Contractors to test, install, repair, and perform PM on these systems.
  • AIB/Food Defense: Maintain dock seals, man door seals, repair wall cracks, repair floor cracks, mitigate air and pest infiltration, and perform regular inspections/documentation supporting AIB/Food Defense activities.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Initiate/solicit work from suppliers and contractors with minimal supervision, plan and execute projects, perform housekeeping of the facility maintenance working areas to plant standards, and enter and complete maintenance work orders as directed.
Qualifications
  • General Knowledge: Requires a solid general knowledge of codes, rules, regulations, and procedures pertaining to the repair, maintenance, and construction of facility buildings, machines, and equipment.
  • Plumbing: Requires the ability to install and repair steel pipe, PVC, copper, sewer (ABS), and natural gas line (black pipe).
  • Mechanical: Requires the ability to install and repair ancillary equipment for the support of the facility, including some fabrication with sheet metal, carpentry, and the ability to hang and finish drywall.
  • Electrical: Requires qualification in the area of Industrial Electricity, including the ability to install and repair panels, bus lines, disconnects, circuit breakers, EMT, and rigid conduit as well as PVC.
  • HVAC/Chillers: Must have the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Must be able to work from drawings, schematics, blueprints, sketches, and specifications, use micrometers, scales, verniers, and gauges, and be a team player with a positive approach, excellent attendance, and dependability.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to work on company computer systems (IFS) and Microsoft Office products knowledge preferred.
