Position Overview
Medline Industries is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team, primarily based in our Chicago office. This role will collaborate closely with the Dynacor Division on various initiatives aimed at driving category expansion, enhancing profit margins, and improving forecasting accuracy. The selected candidate will provide valuable insights into revenue and profitability on a monthly basis to key stakeholders through detailed analyses, financial modeling, comprehensive reporting, and insightful commentary. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a keen analytical mindset.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough analyses of financial results, trends, and metrics on a monthly basis, while engaging with Division General Managers and other leadership teams to discuss historical and projected outcomes. Highlighting critical factors influencing the overall financial performance.
- Leading the forecasting processes, including the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Long Range Plan (LRP), and Quarterly Reforecasts, while understanding historical trends and collaborating with business leaders to evaluate future impacts.
- Reviewing internal financial statements for accuracy prior to publication.
- Participating in special finance projects aimed at enhancing analytical and forecasting capabilities.
- Completing ad-hoc financial analyses to support strategic business decisions.
- Performing ROI analyses, scenario modeling, and providing decision support for future business planning and investment decisions.
- Offering guidance and specialized expertise to business partners and analysts within the department.
- Driving continuous improvement by developing new analyses and innovating existing metrics and reporting processes.
- Posting month-end journal entries as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including skills in index/match, lookups, pivot tables, and sumifs.
- Experience with SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, or other big data analytics tools is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
