Restorative Director/RN or LPN Job Description

Job Summary:

The Restorative Director/RN or LPN is responsible for the development, implementation, and supervision of the restorative nursing program at Irving Park Living and Rehab. This role requires a strong nursing background and leadership skills to promote a restorative nursing philosophy among facility departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the restorative nursing program, ensuring alignment with facility goals and objectives.
  • Supervise and mentor restorative nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
  • Collaborate with therapy departments to ensure seamless care transitions and effective restorative plans.
  • Conduct regular rounds to evaluate patient care, monitor nursing practices, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and best practices in restorative nursing.
  • Perform rehabilitation assessments and functional evaluations to inform restorative plans.
  • Work closely with nurses to develop and implement restorative plans of care.
  • Oversee the implementation of incontinent management programs and ensure proper documentation.
  • Attend care planning conferences and provide feedback on restorative nursing measures.
  • Participate in physical restraint reduction and fall management programs.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and Director of Nursing to orient new staff on restorative nursing principles and practices.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, the Restorative Director/RN or LPN must possess:

  • A nursing degree and current licensure.
  • 3-5 years of equivalent clinical experience.

  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Capacity to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position.
  • Flexibility, personal integrity, and ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
  • Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility.
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
