As an unbiased grid operator, the California ISO provides access to a competitive wholesale power market aimed at resource diversification and cost reduction. Similar to air traffic controllers, the California ISO operates independently, managing the flow of electricity without ownership of the grid, ensuring timely and reliable delivery to utilities and consumers.

Key Responsibilities:

Expertise in Readiness and Point-of-Contact:
Act as a liaison for internal stakeholders by providing essential information and insights. Participate in meetings, collaborate with colleagues to develop best practices, and address issues promptly. Maintain effective communication regarding work progress to ensure team continuity and collaboration with other departments.

Management of Customer Readiness Initiatives:
Take full responsibility for customer-related readiness activities associated with specific projects and changes. Collaborate with internal teams to understand customer-impacting processes and develop actionable items. Work closely with the Customer Experience team to ensure timely communication of changes and facilitate training for both internal and external customers.

Enhancement of Readiness Processes:
Lead the development and improvement of readiness activities by refining training materials and readiness tools. Ensure that customers are adequately prepared for changes implemented by the California ISO. Follow up post-training to assess effectiveness and make necessary adjustments, while maintaining quality control over readiness processes.

Qualifications:

Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

Experience:
A minimum of three years of relevant experience is necessary, alongside equivalent education and training.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience as a corporate trainer or change management specialist, ideally within the energy sector.
  • Familiarity with CAISO operations or previous roles in energy industry entities.
  • Knowledge of software development change management processes is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Training Development: Proven ability to design and deliver effective training programs.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to convey technical changes to diverse audiences.
