Position Title: Packaging Machine Operator

Role Summary:

The Packaging Machine Operator, also known as the Packaging Technician, plays a crucial role in the staging, setup, operation, cleaning, and sanitization of filling machines. Working collaboratively within a team of 3-6 members, the operator is responsible for the efficient filling and packaging of dairy products such as sour cream and cottage cheese.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, troubleshoot, and operate automated filling, box forming, and packing machinery.
  • Manually load packaging materials including cups, foil, and shippers.
  • Stage packaging supplies using pallet jacks.
  • Conduct and document production and quality control measures.
  • Clean and sterilize packaging equipment both manually and through in-place cleaning methods.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery.
  • Adhere to food safety and quality protocols established by the company.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), maintain cleanliness, and uphold safety standards.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude; a background in maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience in packaging machine operation and troubleshooting is advantageous.
  • Attention to detail in machine operation and package quality is essential.
  • Ability to comprehend and adhere to all GMP and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and twist throughout the shift.
  • Ability to multitask while collaborating with a team.
  • Experience in a food or dairy production environment is preferred.

Compensation:

Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications, with entry-level positions starting at $20/hr.

Shift Availability:

2nd and 3rd Shift
