Job Summary

As a Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care by producing two-dimensional cardiac ultrasonic recordings to evaluate the anatomy and hemodynamics of the heart, its valves, and related blood vessels. Your expertise will be essential in disease diagnosis and the study of malfunctioning organs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound procedures, stress echo's, bubble studies, and contrast echo's as prescribed by physicians.
  • Ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient test results by utilizing efficient and safe processes in accordance with department protocols and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment safely, efficiently, and properly.
  • Stay up-to-date with FHS standards, protocols, and procedures relating to the department, and demonstrate evidence of continuing education.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound/echo sonography program.
  • One year of post-graduate experience in cardiac ultrasound and/or demonstrated high degree of proficiency, knowledge, and acuity in the field of diagnostics or ultrasound is preferred.
  • Current registration by ARDMS, or current certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
  • Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
