Job Summary:

As a Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist at TRA Medical Imaging, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and diagnostic information. Your primary responsibility will be to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams in accordance with ARDMS standards and ethics. You will work closely with our team of radiologists to ensure that patients receive accurate and timely diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound exams, explaining procedures and providing clear instructions.
  • Obtain thorough patient histories and review charts to determine optimal scanning parameters.
  • Implement orders from referring physicians and perform examinations of the abdomen, pelvis, OB, small parts, and vascular structures with accuracy.
  • Present ultrasound examinations to radiologists in a professional and precise manner.
  • Assist patients to scanning tables, position them, and utilize appropriate ultrasound devices and frequencies.
  • Perform examinations in a timely manner and follow scan protocols and radiologist prescriptions without error.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
  • Prepare informed consent for and assist radiologists with interventional procedures, such as needle localizations, aspirations, and biopsies.
  • Practice aseptic techniques as necessary and maintain a professional demeanor with confidentiality.
  • Cooperate with coworkers to ensure proper patient care and efficient workflow.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program.
  • ARDMS registry eligible or abdomen and OB/GYN preferred.
  • Breast, vascular, MSK, NT, and pediatric registries a plus/preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required.
Working Conditions:

Work environment consists of normal office or administrative working conditions. There may be exposure to communicable diseases. There will be limited exposure to ionizing radiation.
