We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Host/Hostess to join our team at the Westin St. Louis. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities- Guest Service: Meet and greet guests, offer choice of seating, and escort them to their table, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Logistics and Coordination: Maintain and update the log book to coordinate communication between shifts and management, ensuring seamless operations.
- Dining Room Setup: Ensure the dining room is properly set up, creating an inviting ambiance for our guests.
- Reservations and Special Functions: Receive records and make necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions, providing exceptional service to our guests.
- Attendance and Availability: Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis, ensuring our guests receive consistent service.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other job-related duties as assigned, contributing to the success of our team.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required, with a college degree preferred.
- Experience: Hotel experience preferred, with a strong understanding of hospitality principles.
- Skills: Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom may require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand and move throughout the front office, continuously performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Technical Skills: Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
