Role Overview

In this prominent position, you will play a vital role in a chip design initiative, collaborating across various domains, significantly influencing the timely delivery of functional products to millions of customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in comprehensive verification of the memory subsystem by acquiring a thorough understanding of cache coherence protocols and the operation of different components in CPU/GPU/SOC pertinent to memory subsystem validation, including Load-Store units, various cache levels, bus interface units, and memory controllers.
  • Create a verification environment applicable for both simulation and emulation processes.
  • Design synthesizable transactors and test benches, and provide verification hooks to assess memory subsystem functionality and CPU/SOC characteristics.
  • Develop unit-level stimuli and full-chip assembly programs to validate the memory subsystem.
  • Create verification IPs.
  • Collaborate closely with CPU, SOC, and GPU RTL design teams to thoroughly understand specifications and formulate a verification strategy that considers system-level factors.
  • Establish coverage monitors and achieve coverage objectives.
  • Troubleshoot failures in both pre-silicon and post-silicon environments, identify root causes, and suggest design modifications to resolve issues.
  • Develop abstract end-to-end checks to validate CPU-SOC memory subsystem interactions and coherence protocols.
  • Employ innovative techniques such as formal verification, emulation/FPGA technology, along with industry-standard tools and languages to validate the memory subsystem.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and have over 3 years of relevant industry experience. Familiarity with digital logic design, CPU and SOC architecture/micro-architecture, and memory subsystems is preferred. Strong programming skills in C/C++, Verilog, and scripting, along with software optimization and performance enhancement capabilities, are essential. Experience in unit and full-chip test benches, as well as in developing test plans, assertions, and stimuli, is also required.

We value teamwork and excellent communication skills, and you should be capable of independently managing verification efforts for specific design blocks or areas. Experience with emulation and synthesizable transactor development is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and over 3 years of relevant industry experience is desired. Apple is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusion and diversity. We take affirmative action to ensure equal opportunity for all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, Veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics.
