THE POSITION:
As a key member of the client platform engineering team, this senior memory architecture engineer will collaborate with internal engineering teams and external partners in a dynamic lab setting to enable, troubleshoot, and validate the latest memory technologies set to enter the market for cutting-edge AMD client SOCs.

THE INDIVIDUAL:
A passionate engineer eager to explore new memory technologies, working across silicon design, validation, and memory partnerships to deliver reliable system memory solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Formulate technical test strategies to support platform-based APU silicon initialization and the validation of DDR5 and LPDDR5x memory components in collaboration with memory controller and PHY designers, BIOS developers, platform design engineers, and external partners.

- Activate SOC DDR5 and LPDDR5x memory functionalities for new client APUs as part of a technical platform enablement team.

- Implement electrical and functional DDR5 and LPDDR5x memory test strategies to confirm system performance against product specifications using hardware and software validation tools.

- Create scripts and tools to facilitate system memory silicon validation, characterization, and analysis.

- Evaluate electrical and functional test data to inform production SOC and system solution decisions.

- Troubleshoot system memory challenges encountered during pre-silicon emulation, initialization, validation, and production phases of SOC programs.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience in system memory validation and/or SOC IP electrical characterization, ideally in DDR4/5 or LPDDR4x/5/5x.

- Technical proficiency in developing and executing platform-level electrical and functional test strategies.

- Familiarity with software development, including languages such as Python and Ruby for system memory silicon validation test strategy development and execution.

- Experience in debugging I/O interfaces such as DDR4/5 and LPDDR4x/5/5x.

- Comprehensive understanding of PC architectures and system technologies.

- Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, logic/protocol analyzers, and interpreting schematics and layout design files for system memory analysis and troubleshooting.

- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with various engineering disciplines and management.


EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required.
