Job Title: Food Regulatory Labeling Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Food Regulatory Labeling Specialist to join our team in the Paramus, NJ office.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting project timelines/deadlines from concept through final package development while ensuring compliance with US packaging labeling requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle multiple label packaging projects working cross-functionally and execute responsibilities with a high degree of thoroughness.
  • Update nutritional database and corresponding ingredient specification information using Genesis R&D software.
  • Proof packaging artwork for accurate information at each stage in the design process.
  • Clarify necessary revisions with global suppliers and ensure follow-up through effective written and verbal communication.
  • Conduct finished product packaging audits against ingredient specifications, Genesis R&D, and label approvals.
  • Communicate up-to-date information on current US labeling and food product regulations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Update workflow software for label reviews, product reviews, and sign-off on processes needed by required business teams.
  • Maintain a system/database of final packaging and/or labels to include supporting documentation needed for compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Food Science or related field.
  • 3 - 5 years of related experience preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of USDA & FDA labeling regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat; Genesis R&D software is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent proofreading/editing skills.
  • Possess successful organizational, analytical and time-management skills.
