Position Overview

Summary: Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Special Education is tasked with the leadership, administration, and oversight of the Special Education Unit within Global Psychological Services. The primary objective of this role is to establish, implement, and sustain exceptional educational programs and services tailored for students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Special Education Program and Services, ensuring alignment with established policies, goals, and objectives. Develop both long-term and short-term strategic plans for special education.
  • Ensure compliance by monitoring Special Education Case Load Rosters.
  • Support building-level administrators and staff in the execution of District policies and programs.
  • Supervise and conduct annual evaluations of Special Education Coordinators and staff.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of special education staff assignments to enhance capacity and efficiency.
  • Facilitate a collaborative environment by clarifying roles and responsibilities of special education staff.
  • Enhance the management of the diagnostic, intervention, and referral processes for special education eligibility.
  • Conduct interviews for prospective administrative and professional candidates and evaluate personnel applications.
  • Prepare and author technical documentation related to the operations of the Special Education Unit.
  • Improve program visibility through the enhancement of information on the company’s website and marketing materials.
  • Organize regular informational meetings to promote communication and collaboration among staff.
  • Guide the formulation and execution of strategic plans to achieve program objectives in alignment with the Special Education Unit's strategic vision.

Education Requirements:

  • Hold a current teaching certificate with a special education endorsement.
