Job Opportunity

Axios Professional Recruitment is partnering with an alternative charter school in Muskegon, MI to find a dedicated Special Education Teacher. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with students and teachers to provide specially designed instruction, advocating for the youth to receive proper education and building meaningful student-teacher relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans for students, including gathering and using updated data, present levels of educational performance, and special education needs.
  • Collaborate with educational professionals and community service providers to coordinate the delivery of special education services.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with students, school staff, and families.
  • Provide consultation to classroom teachers regarding instructional modifications, adaptive equipment, and behavior modification plans.
  • Complete special education documentation and meet administrative and mission expectations.
Requirements
  • BA or BS Degree
  • Valid special education teaching certificate/license and Highly Qualified (HQ) with endorsement in at least one area of special education
  • Satisfactory completion of criminal history check
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Passion for working with at-risk youth in a blended learning setting
