Job Overview

Position Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Reporting To: Maintenance Manager

Role Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in the leadership of the facility. This position is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager and overseeing the maintenance team to enhance operational efficiency and foster a positive work environment focused on employee engagement and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a range of tasks to support the operations of Phoenix Global.
  • Provide maintenance services and manage equipment for the operational fleet.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures established by Phoenix Global and its clients.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures, including the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in mandatory safety meetings and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Implement proper handling and lifting techniques for materials.

Operational Management:

  • Plan work schedules and allocate resources effectively.
  • Conduct quality control and assurance checks.
  • Supervise shifts and delegate maintenance tasks on various transportation units.
  • Document all completed maintenance work and track the usage of parts and lubricants.

Work Environment:

This position is situated in a steel mill environment, necessitating a high regard for safety protocols and the use of appropriate PPE. Routine use of standard office equipment is also required.

Physical Requirements:

The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand, walk on various surfaces, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience with technical equipment and machinery, particularly in heavy diesel mobile equipment.
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of steel mill operations and heavy mobile equipment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing operational needs and schedules.
  • Commitment to employee safety and equipment maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts.
  • Dependability and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
