Role Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in the leadership structure of the organization. This position is designed to assist the Maintenance Manager and oversee the maintenance team, ensuring operational efficiency and fostering a positive work environment that enhances employee engagement and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a variety of tasks to support the operations of Phoenix Global.
  • Provide maintenance services and manage equipment related to the operational fleet.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures established by Phoenix Global and its clientele.

Essential Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures, including the use of necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as mandated by the organization.
  • Participate in mandatory safety meetings on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safe handling of materials and equipment at all times.
  • Plan work schedules and allocate resources effectively.
  • Conduct quality control and assurance checks.
  • Supervise shifts and manage personnel effectively.
  • Delegate general and preventative maintenance tasks on transportation units.
  • Document all completed work accurately.
  • Track the consumption of parts and lubricants.
  • Observe and adhere to safety regulations and environmental standards.

Work Environment:

This position is based in an industrial setting that requires a strong commitment to safety protocols and the use of appropriate PPE. Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers and telecommunication devices is also necessary.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include the ability to communicate effectively in potentially noisy environments, stand, walk on various surfaces, climb stairs, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.

Additional Information:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience with technical equipment and machinery, particularly in heavy diesel mobile equipment.
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial context.
  • Strong understanding of steel mill operations and heavy mobile equipment.
  • Knowledge of scheduling and staffing, with the ability to adapt to operational changes.
  • Commitment to employee safety and equipment maintenance.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts.
  • Dependability and a strong interest in teamwork.
