About the Role

At Lifelancer, we're seeking a skilled HCPCS Coding Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our data enrichment team, you will be responsible for coding and auditing Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes, ensuring accurate and consistent product classification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sources and enriches transactional data elements based on defined standards relative to medical surgical devices and supplies, guaranteeing data quality for our customer base.
  • Ensures timely delivery of accurate data, facilitating seamless business operations.
  • Collaborates closely with Product Operations Manager to provide timely feedback supporting operational needs.
  • Contributes to the development of processes and procedures that support Content Operations goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Applicable experience in the healthcare, life sciences, or medical technology industry.
  • Advanced level knowledge of medical terminology and working knowledge of HCPCS coding.
  • Strong understanding of medical product functionality and terminology.
  • Experience obtaining, reviewing, and collating information from various sources, particularly related to medical devices/medical equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent English comprehension and written communication skills.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Excel required.
  • Project management skills a plus.
  • Supply Chain knowledge preferred.
  • Basic understanding of the UNSPSC preferred.
  • Understanding of distributor/manufacturer relationships preferred.
  • Able to travel up to 15% annually.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Information Systems or a healthcare-related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years medical coding experience encompassing multiple clinical specialties and a minimum of 1 year of medical auditing experience.
  • Completion of a certified medical coder education curriculum or coding certification.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coder Specialist-Physician (CCS-P), and/or Certified Coder Specialist (CCS).

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated hourly compensation for this role is $24.95-$31.15. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, and dental insurance, accident and life insurance, 401k matching, paid-time off, and education reimbursement.
