Quality Assurance Inspector for Machine Shop

As a Quality Assurance Inspector for Machine Shop, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with company policies and safeguarding the operational assets of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications for the final evaluation of all components.
• Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges for product inspection.
• Assess and validate incoming parts, assemblies, and materials against established standards, quarantining any non-conforming items and notifying the relevant departments.
• Conduct in-process inspections of all manufactured components, verifying dimensions against specifications as required.
• Record all inspection findings in the designated in-process and final inspection documentation.
• Ensure that all quality control measures are executed prior to the release of finished products from the shop.
• Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for items that do not meet specifications, summarizing defects and communicating findings to production supervisors and engineering teams for resolution.
• Maintain and regularly update the calibration logs for all inspection instruments utilized in the shop and during final evaluations.
• Assist operations in the completion of hydrostatic testing reports.
• Approve or reject finished products and compile final inspection reports.
Qualifications
• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in quality inspection is preferred.
• Proficiency with measuring instruments such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers is essential.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while demonstrating independence in task execution.
• Strong communication skills are necessary.
• Competence in computer word processing and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is required.
