Position Overview:

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is in search of a dedicated Finance Support Specialist to join our Office of Administrative Services. This role is integral to maintaining the financial integrity of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine a variety of financial documents, including purchase orders, invoices, and travel documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assign standard accounting codes and identifiers to transactions.
  • Manage accounts payable processes and liaise with vendors to resolve inquiries.
  • Prepare and distribute checks as required.
  • Input routine financial transactions into accounting systems, verifying and reconciling records.
  • Organize and maintain physical files of departmental records.
  • Handle cash, checks, and credit card payments, assisting with cash register operations as necessary.
  • Oversee third-party contracts and scholarships within the student accounts receivable system.
  • Facilitate electronic billing and payment processes with third-party vendors.
  • Participate in training sessions and implement new processes as directed.
  • Process external charges to the student accounts receivable system.
  • Enter payment data into student account records.
  • Provide assistance and information to callers and visitors.
  • Perform basic clerical duties as needed.
  • Complete other assigned tasks as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in bookkeeping or accounting-related roles.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Teamworks Financial Systems – Accounts Receivable and familiarity with federal grants.

Technical Skills:
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, student accounts management practices, and relevant federal and state regulations. Proficiency in computer operations and job-related software programs, along with strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
