As a key member of the Graycor team, you will drive business growth and operations excellence in the southwest region. Your focus will be on warehouse industrial, light manufacturing, office, and mixed-use retail/hospitality projects. You will develop new client relationships, support estimating, oversee preconstruction and construction services, and manage subcontractor relationships to achieve growth objectives and ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and growing existing ones.
  • Develop and implement a proposal and budgeting strategy in collaboration with Estimating and Operations teams.
  • Oversee preconstruction services, including design, estimating, and project management, to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
  • Lead the development of major proposals and presentations to win business, training project personnel to make effective client presentations.
  • Communicate effectively with Design Consultants, General Managers, Director of Operations, and the VP/Manager of Estimating to maintain management team efficiency.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports, providing regular feedback and guidance to support their growth and development.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 15 years of construction experience, preferably in the local industrial warehouse sector.
  • An undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or a relevant discipline.
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in developing new clients, closing deals, and growing business with existing clients.
  • Proven experience managing preconstruction services and leveraging subcontractor relationships to meet and exceed client needs.
  • Strong financial skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial statements.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with strong presentation skills and the ability to run meetings at all levels of the organization.
  • The ability to build strong relationships and establish strong interpersonal connections at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with a desire to develop and challenge direct reports to improve their performance and develop their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • An analytical orientation toward key market trends and changes, with the ability to take appropriate action to ensure continued leadership and competitive advantage.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Procore, and Primavera.
