Position Overview

As a key member of the supply chain team, the Lead Supply Chain Strategist will report directly to the Senior Supply Planning Manager and will oversee the management of inventory and supply chain operations for HARIBO of America. This role is crucial in ensuring optimal stock levels, managing product freshness in storage, and conducting thorough inventory assessments. The strategist will also be responsible for forecasting and coordinating procurement with production facilities.

The Lead Supply Chain Strategist will engage in continuous evaluation of demand forecast precision, inventory metrics, sales patterns, vendor efficiency, supply challenges, and capacity constraints to prevent both surplus and shortages.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Senior Supply Planning Manager to execute comprehensive supply planning with both international partners and domestic manufacturing.
  • Oversee the Supply Review outputs as part of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, ensuring clear communication regarding capacity strategies, supply chain risks, action plans, and constrained forecast outputs for financial analysis.
  • Manage target inventory levels necessary to meet demand through various analytical methods, including standard deviation and lead time assessments across multiple storage facilities.
  • Balance inventory effectively to meet customer service requirements.
  • Accountable for enhancing Customer Fill Rate (CFR) and conducting root cause analyses.
  • Exhibit advanced proficiency in SAP, particularly in navigating and executing Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) capacity planning and new product setups.
  • Maintain weekly communications with international partners regarding production compliance and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide clear updates to internal stakeholders on the ability to meet sales objectives.
  • Actively participate in freshness meetings, conducting root cause analyses on relevant drivers.
  • Partner with the Demand Planning team for weekly evaluations of forecast discrepancies and risk management strategies.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in Supply Chain.
  • At least two years of experience in Supply and Inventory Planning.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems.
  • Background in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector.

  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Results-oriented with excellent judgment, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with all team members.
