Job Description

FSA Cares is seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Services Supervisor to oversee the operations of the School-Based Counseling Program in South, Mid, or North Santa Barbara County.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative supervision and ongoing training to clinical staff to support staff development.
  • Interviews, hires, trains, and evaluates new staff.
  • Supports counselors in managing their caseload and caseload expectations.
  • Ensures quality of mental health service delivery and documentation through regular review of client files and documentation.
  • Organizes and facilitates regular and ongoing staff meetings and trainings.
  • Participates in weekly individual meetings with appropriate Supervisor/Manager/Director.
  • Participates and collaborates with other School-Based Program staff to ensure alignment in practices and standards.
  • Monitors Program budgets and productivity.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the School-Based Counseling Program and the impact on both the schools and the community by regularly and continuously using collected data and information to make needed improvements, as appropriate.
  • Identifies unmet needs to the appropriate Supervisor/Manager/Director; develops and implements needs as appropriate.
  • Represents and advocates for School-Based Counseling Services with collaborative agencies, school district staff, school administration, other service providers, and potential funding sources.
  • Interfaces with funding and regulator entities.
  • Interfaces with other Family Service Agency programs; in particular, those serving the same or similar populations.
  • Ensures staff comply with all California's Board of Behavioral Sciences regulations and standards.
  • Reviews statistical reports to ensure accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Licensed MFT, LCSW, or Psychologist is required.
  • Minimum of two years as a licensed clinician and must have completed a BBS approved supervision course within the last 2 years.
  • Experience required with program management and staff supervision, as well as knowledge of current clinical practices regarding services to children, youth and families.
  • Demonstrates problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Two years working as a School-Based Counselor is preferred.
  • Valid automobile insurance and a valid California Driver's License are required; reliable transportation is necessary to travel throughout Santa Barbara County.
