Materials Management Technician II

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Management Technician II to join our team at Alameda Health System. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for requisitioning, ordering, issuing, delivering, receiving, and warehousing supplies and equipment. You will also maintain inventory records, provide input on minimum stock levels, and rates of usage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver, set up, and place new furniture, move used furniture and other heavy objects, and drive a light or medium-duty truck in the pick-up or delivery of supplies, furniture, and equipment to departments and outside agencies.
- Receive, store, and rotate institutional size packages and bulk case lots, load and unload whole truckloads of goods, and convert items received from outside vendors to ACMC method of use.
- Issue items in small lots to departments and satellite offices, receive, sort, and deliver USPS, FedEx, or other priority mail in the mail room throughout the medical center, and run and apply postage on automated postage machines.
- Perform routine supply or warehousing duties, including maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the work area or storeroom, and operate equipment related to the job, such as pneumatic tubes, dollies, hand and platform trucks/carts, paper counters, shrink wrap, pallet jacks, roller conveyor, and forklift trucks.
- Receive stock that supports an office environment, organizational inventory, or outside vendors, check for damage and quantity, determine whether orders conform with invoices, store stock in accordance with previously established systems, and provide input regarding minimum stock levels and rates of usage.
- Prepare brief statistical summaries of supply activities, receive supplies from ACMC stores and outside vendors, telephone pre-designated contracted vendors regularly to check market prices, make telephone orders for specific materials, and track packages using on-line vendor tracking software.
- Ensure incoming supplies are stocked on a first-in, first-out basis, perform periodic cycle counts and checks for outdates as part of stocking activity, set up stocks of supplies at various work locations, take physical inventory, and maintain manual records of stock issues, received or surveyed, and on hand.
- Accurately and timely enter data into automated inventory systems, prepare timesheets, and post data on job cost records, and may be required to perform a daily physical inventory.
Requirements:
- High School diploma required; Associate's degree or some college coursework preferred.
- Two years of experience as a full-time Materials Management Technician I.
- Valid CA Driver's License.
