Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide friendly, professional, and confidential assistance to members in lobby, drive-thru window, or by telephone, ensuring a positive experience and minimizing wait time.
  • Financial Transactions: Accurately process checking, savings, and borrowing transactions, including receiving funds, posting transactions, and paying out funds as requested.
  • Cash Handling: Balance cash drawers daily, ensuring accuracy in transactions, and notify supervisors of any discrepancies.
  • Research and Resolution: Research, troubleshoot, and resolve member and internal inquiries regarding policies, practices, and products.
  • Transaction Processing: Issue Traveler's Checks and money orders, receive currency for coin, verify amounts, process redemption of bonds, and cash checks according to written procedures.
  • Loan and Savings Processing: Receive loan payments and savings deposits from members, address inquiries on accounts, record amounts and dates of payments, and validate checks and/or count cash payments.
  • Interdepartmental Support: Assist other departments and branches with transactions as needed, provide support for department and branch managers in fulfilling member requests and merchant verifications.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Cash handling and customer service experience is strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Basic math skills, ability to operate a computer keyboard by touch, proficiency with MS Word, and ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Physical Requirements: Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion, regularly lifting cash boxes of up to 10 lbs. and coin bags up to 30 lbs. on occasion.
  • Mental and Emotional Requirements: Ability to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision, work effectively as part of a team, and deal calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures.
