Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in carrying out all technical aspects of cardiac procedures, assessing patient parameters and performance during procedures, and maintaining equipment and supply inventory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Aspects of Cardiac Procedures: Under general supervision, you will carry out all technical aspects of cardiac procedures, including recording hemodynamic/physiological waveforms and performing various hemodynamic/physiological calculations.
  • Patient Assessment and Monitoring: You will assess all parameters and performance during procedures, and monitor patient status to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Inventory: You will maintain equipment, supply inventory, and medical inventory to ensure that all necessary resources are available for procedures.
  • Basic and Advanced Life Support: You will assist with basic and advanced life support, and make value judgments pertaining to patient condition and safety.
  • Resource and Support: You will act as a resource to staff in the theory, practice, and operation of hemodynamic monitoring systems, and perform analysis of existing hemodynamic system operations and implementations.
Requirements
  • Education: Associates degree in Science with a major in Cardiovascular Technology, or completion of a two-year accredited Cardiovascular Technology Training Program.
  • Certifications: Registration with the National Board of Cardio Vascular Testing required (RCIS) or (RCES) or ARRT registered with Cardiac/Interventional (CI) or (CV) Cardiac/Vascular Radiology Certification.
  • Experience: One or more years of direct Cardiac Cath/Peripheral Vascular/EP Lab experience required.
  • Skills: Prior experience working with assessment metrics and quality improvement processes in groups, alone, with and without immediate or direct supervision.
