Job Title: Cardiovascular Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cardiovascular diseases.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Cardiovascular Technologist will be responsible for performing various technical procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, vascular imaging, and hemodynamic monitoring. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform cardiac catheterizations, vascular imaging, and hemodynamic monitoring procedures
  • Assess patient parameters and performance during procedures
  • Record hemodynamic/physiological waveforms and perform various hemodynamic/physiological calculations
  • Maintain equipment, supply inventory, and medical inventory
  • Prepare patients for procedures and monitor patient status
  • Assist with basic and advanced life support
  • Act as a resource to staff in the theory, practice, and operation of hemodynamic monitoring systems
  • Perform analysis of existing hemodynamic system operations and implementations, recommend and implement changes and improvements
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Science with a major in Cardiovascular Technology, or completion of a two-year accredited Cardiovascular Technology Training Program
  • Registration with the National Board of Cardio Vascular Testing required (RCIS) or (RCES) or ARRT registered with Cardiac/Interventional (CI) or (CV) Cardiac/Vascular Radiology Certification
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support-Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) for employees working in adult settings or Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (PALS) for employees working in pediatric settings
  • One or more years of direct Cardiac Cath/Peripheral Vascular/EP Lab experience required
