About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Specialist to join our team at Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that enhances our company's reputation and brand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Brand Management: Develop and maintain a strong brand identity for Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, ensuring consistency across all communications channels.
  • Content Creation: Create engaging and informative content for various media platforms, including written, visual, and video materials.
  • Crisis Communications: Develop and implement crisis communications plans to effectively manage and respond to potential crises.
  • Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, ensuring timely and accurate responses to media inquiries.
  • Event Planning: Plan and execute events, conferences, and other communications-related activities that promote our company's brand and reputation.
  • Video Production: Conceptualize, script, shoot, and edit video content that aligns with our company's communication goals and messaging.
  • AV Equipment Management: Manage and maintain AV equipment for events, presentations, and meetings, ensuring seamless audio and visual experiences.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Information Science, Broadcasting, Media Production, or related field.
  • Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong writing and editing skills, experience in photograph and video production, desktop publishing software, MS Office software, Google Analytics, Adobe applications, and web content management platforms.
  • Abilities: Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and efficient manner, ability to simplify complex concepts for a varied audience, ability to manage all aspects of crisis communications under stress, ability to work under stress while effectively interacting with others, ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive materials, ability to meet deadlines, make decisions, and solve problems independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience managing social media accounts, creating social media content, and scheduling posts, experience in graphic design with a strong understanding of design principles, layout, color theory, and typography, experience writing press releases or media pitches, experience interacting with media outlets, experience in marketing and/or web design, experience in marketing or communications strategy planning.
