Health Assistant II Float Specialist

Job Summary

The Float Health Assistant II provides clinical and administrative support to the Internal Medicine and Urgent Care departments. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the departments.

Clinical Duties
  • Prepares examination rooms and maintains a clean and organized environment.
  • Performs EKGs and waived testing as needed.
  • Maintains patient flow and ensures efficient use of time.
  • Provides patient instruction regarding preparation of tests and procedures.
  • Assists clinicians during examinations and minor procedures.
Administrative Duties
  • Assists patients on the phone and in person with scheduling appointments and answering questions.
  • Checks patients in and collects copays.
  • Schedules outside tests for patients.
  • Appropriately sorts and distributes lab results to clinicians.
  • Responds to patient requests for medical record information.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a medical and/or nursing assistant program.
  • Two years of patient service experience.
  • Administrative experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
