Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in secondary education content areas, adult education, health and physical education, and curriculum and culture change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach courses in CANVAS, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for students.
  • Work with students to ensure their success, providing individualized support and guidance as needed.
  • Develop assessments for student learning outcomes, aligning with the university's academic standards.
  • Design experiential learning experiences that promote student engagement and retention.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or licensure, certifications, and/or professional experience in the content area.
  • Proficiency with Zoom or other virtual platforms, ensuring seamless online instruction.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating a high level of autonomy.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse learning environment, or a commitment to doing so as a faculty member at the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in the content area and previous higher education teaching experience.
  • Experience using CANVAS and Zoom or other virtual platforms, ensuring a high level of technical proficiency.
