Position Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiology to join our esteemed surgical team. This role involves working closely with a team of experienced cardiac surgeons and physician assistants to provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing complex cardiovascular procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical and psycho-social assessments of patients.
- Establish medical diagnoses and manage follow-up care.
- Perform physical examinations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory analyses and imaging studies.
- Assist in surgical procedures, including but not limited to CABG, valve repairs, and ECMO insertions.
- Conduct patient interviews to gather detailed medical histories and document health status.
- Perform specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under physician supervision.
- Educate patients on health management, self-care practices, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with medical standards.
- Collaborate with physicians to coordinate consultations and referrals to other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
Required:
- Completion of a Physician Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Surgery setting as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting techniques.
Work Schedule
Daily on-call responsibilities, including weekends and holidays, are shared among the surgical team members, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
