About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our inpatient clinical nutrition team at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide safe and therapeutic nutritional care to patients, working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' nutritional needs and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Provide clinical services, including nutrition counseling and education, to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to integrate nutrition care into the comprehensive plan of care for patients.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families to maximize patient outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in nutrition care, incorporating this knowledge into patient care and education programs.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in nutrition or a related field.
  • Dietetic internship or equivalent experience.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) certification.
  • Basic Life Support through AHA within 3 months of hire.
  • Preferred: experience in malnutrition, nutrition support, and basic nutrition assessment.
