Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Services Specialist to join our team at the Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center. As a key member of our care team, you will provide direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their independence, dignity, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and oral hygiene.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the unique needs and goals of each individual are met.
  • Train and guide individuals in routine and elementary self-help skills, promoting personal and social growth.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Active Treatment and Nutritional/Behavior/Physical Support Plans.
  • Accompany and transport individuals to activities, such as the dining hall, church services, recreation areas, doctor's offices, education field trips, work, and shopping.
  • Observe behavior and health of individuals, reporting sudden or unusual changes to higher authority.
  • Report accidents/incidents and suspected cases of abuse or neglect of individuals to higher authority.
Requirements
  • One year of experience in providing care, guidance, or training to individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, or chemical dependency.
  • College training with at least six semester hours per year in one or a combination of education, psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, child guidance, or nursing will substitute for the required experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience.
  • Training as a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant at a recognized technical school will substitute on a month-for-month basis for a maximum of six months of the required experience.
