Job Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our contract manufacturing relationship. This position requires a strong technical background in electromechanical systems and a proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and execute validation plans for process equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Lead the implementation of sustaining design initiatives in manufacturing.
  • Identify and execute improvement opportunities using lean and related tools and methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain essential documents such as process flowcharts, PFMEA, and Process Control plans.
  • Interface with contract manufacturing staff and management to ensure plans are followed and risks are mitigated.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier quality issues and improve product quality.
  • Monitor quality reports and field performance of assigned product line, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or manufacturing engineering with a working knowledge of electro-mechanical sub-assemblies.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering (B.S. or higher) preferably in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, SMED, and GEMBA mindset.
  • Experience with PLM applications such as AGILE and ERP systems such as ORACLE, SAP, or BAAN.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software, preferably SolidWorks.
Working Conditions

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and moderate noise levels. Safety shoes with impact and compression protection are required in designated areas.
