We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team on a per diem basis.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will administer anesthesia under the supervision of the Attending Anesthesiologist, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of care to patients undergoing various medical procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer local, inhalation, intravenous, and other anesthetics as prescribed during surgery, deliveries, or other medical procedures.
  • Institute resuscitative procedures throughout the hospital, including the recovery room, and be available at all times while on duty.
  • Perform complete pre-anesthetic assessments, including significant laboratory data, patient history, and physical examination.
  • Establish good rapport with patients, anticipate needs, and take initiative to function independently.
  • Review patient identification and medical records upon receiving the patient.
  • Prepare for case management by assembling essential equipment in an orderly manner and ensuring it is ready and in working condition.
  • Develop a plan of care based on assessment, interpretation, and anticipated procedure, recognizing patient difficulties and communicating effectively with the Attending Anesthesiologist.
  • Manage anesthesia care, including airway management, and take corrective action as needed, demonstrating good judgment in emergency situations.
  • Provide competent post-anesthetic management, verifying patient identification, maintaining airway, and providing full reports to recovery personnel.
Requirements:
  • Current CRNA-Certified RN Anesthetist license, obtained within 18 months of hire.
  • Masters Degree - CRNA program.
  • Current NYS RN License, CRNA Certification, ACLS, PALS certification, and NYS Infection Control Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:

None.
