Job Overview

Position Summary:

This role serves as the field representative for Brock Built Homes, overseeing the production phase in designated projects and communities. The Construction Supervisor is responsible for managing the activities of team members, subcontractors, material suppliers, and inspectors within the assigned area. This position ensures that all homes constructed meet the quality standards set by Brock Built Homes while adhering to budgetary constraints and timelines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire building process from contract initiation to warranty completion.
  • Ensure compliance with Brock Built Homes' standards and specifications for all residential projects.
  • Stay informed about current trends in the construction industry.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of various trades and the specific scopes of work required.
  • Collaborate closely with the Construction Manager to resolve pricing, supply, and management challenges.
  • Make informed decisions in the field regarding production and take responsibility for those decisions.
  • Meet or exceed the scheduled number of home starts and completions.
  • Maintain construction schedules that align with established milestones and deadlines.
  • Conduct weekly production meetings with the community team, including Sales Agents.
  • Perform daily inspections of homes under construction to monitor progress and quality.
  • Ensure cleanliness of homes during construction and maintain the landscaping of completed properties.
  • Implement and uphold safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Utilize only approved subcontractors for specific trades.
  • Manage the scheduling of subcontractors and ensure job readiness prior to their arrival.
  • Review and approve all construction-related expenses, ensuring that work meets Brock Built Homes' quality standards before payment.
  • Communicate any construction delays or accelerations to the Construction Manager to keep timelines aligned.
  • Follow the established procedures for field change orders when modifications are necessary.
  • Enforce construction standards and methods with all subcontractors.
  • Organize the community production team and assign daily responsibilities.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and standards among community team members.
  • Participate in job start meetings to address any unresolved construction or budgetary issues.
  • Monitor warranty-related expenses and hold subcontractors accountable for their work quality.
  • Manage customer expectations and satisfaction throughout the construction process.
  • Conduct site orientation meetings with Sales Agents and home buyers.
  • Lead contract and plan review sessions with customers to finalize specifications.
  • Facilitate pre-drywall walkthroughs with customers.
  • Coordinate with Sales Agents to address customer inquiries during construction.
  • Handle potentially negative situations with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Attend homeowner orientation walkthroughs and complete necessary checklists prior to closing.

Technical Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in residential or commercial construction.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a college degree is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor when interacting with others.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving abilities and develop actionable plans.
  • Capable of handling stressful situations with composure.
  • Possess a valid driver's license for travel to job sites.
  • Hold relevant certifications, including Level A1 Georgia Soil Erosion Certification and Residential Building Contractor certification from the International Code Council.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically fit and capable of enduring various working conditions.
  • Ability to move quickly and coordinate effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Must perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, and climbing.
  • Capable of lifting or moving objects weighing up to 74 lbs without assistance.
  • Able to navigate construction sites and undeveloped properties.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings.
