Job Overview

Position Summary:

This role serves as the field representative for Brock Built Homes, overseeing various aspects of the construction phase in designated projects and communities. The Construction Supervisor is responsible for managing the activities of team members, subcontractors, material suppliers, and inspectors within the assigned area. This position ensures that all homes constructed meet the quality standards set by Brock Built Homes while adhering to budgetary constraints and timelines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the construction process from contract initiation through to warranty completion.
  • Ensures compliance with Brock Built Homes' standards and specifications for all homes.
  • Stays informed about trends and developments in the construction industry.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of various trades and the specific scopes of work for Brock Built Homes.
  • Collaborates closely with the Construction Manager to address pricing, supply, and management challenges.
  • Makes informed decisions in the field regarding production and accepts accountability for those decisions.
  • Manages the initiation and completion of homes as per the schedule.
  • Ensures that the construction timeline meets or surpasses established milestones.
  • Conducts weekly production meetings with the community team, including Sales Agents.
  • Inspects each home under construction daily to monitor progress and quality.
  • Ensures cleanliness of homes during construction and maintains the yards of completed homes.
  • Implements and enforces safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Utilizes only approved subcontractors for specific trades.
  • Coordinates the schedule for subcontractors and ensures job readiness prior to their arrival.
  • Approves all construction-related expenses, ensuring that all products and services meet quality standards.
  • Communicates any delays or changes in construction stages to the Construction Manager.
  • Follows established procedures for field change orders when modifications are necessary.
  • Enforces Brock Built Homes' construction standards with all subcontractors.
  • Organizes the community production team and assigns daily responsibilities.
  • Adheres to company policies and standards for community team members.
  • Participates in job start meetings to address any unresolved construction or budget concerns.
  • Monitors warranty-related expenses and holds subcontractors accountable for their work.
  • Manages customer expectations and satisfaction throughout the construction process.
  • Conducts site orientation meetings with Sales Agents and home buyers.
  • Leads meetings with customers and Sales Agents to finalize specifications for their homes.
  • Facilitates pre-drywall walkthroughs with customers.
  • Coordinates with Sales Agents to address customer inquiries during construction.
  • Handles challenging situations with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Attends homeowner orientation walkthroughs and completes necessary checklists prior to closing.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential or commercial construction.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a college degree is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Interacts with individuals in a calm and professional manner, reflecting a positive company image.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving abilities and develops actionable plans.
  • Maintains composure in stressful situations.
  • Valid driver's license required for travel to job sites.
  • Holds relevant certifications, including Level A1 Georgia Soil Erosion Certification and Residential Building Contractor certification from the International Code Council.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically fit and possess a high level of endurance.
  • Ability to navigate construction sites and uneven terrain safely.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and climbing.
  • Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 74 lbs.
  • Ability to walk construction sites and undeveloped properties.
