San Francisco, California, United States Humba Ventures Full time
About Humba Ventures

At Humba Ventures, we are pioneering innovative solutions to tackle one of the most prevalent challenges in the industrial sector - the movement and storage of materials. By leveraging robotics and advanced software, we are developing a groundbreaking product for a market valued at $1 trillion, with a primary focus on the supply chain industry.

The sector is currently facing significant challenges due to the rapid expansion of e-commerce, escalating costs, and ongoing supply chain disruptions. What has historically been a stagnant industry is now crucial to supporting the global economy.

Role Overview

Humba Ventures is eager to expand our manufacturing capabilities from a small prototype workshop to a fully-fledged industrial manufacturing operation. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced manufacturing engineering team to join us. Our approach emphasizes rapid iteration and learning, allowing you to see your designs come to life quickly, test them, and enhance our products and teams. You will play a vital role in transforming concepts into large-scale production.

As our inaugural dedicated Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the processes, equipment, and facilities necessary to produce our robots and structures at scale.

You will work closely with our hardware engineering and systems integration teams to prototype, productionize, and implement manufacturing solutions that support our business growth and meet the exceptional demand from our customers.

Example Projects

You will take charge of designing and deploying the machinery that constructs our products.

Assess hardware designs and create manufacturing processes and plans for our robots.

Design and plan manufacturing layouts and facilities for the assembly and fabrication of robotic systems and structures.

Evaluate, develop, and enhance our business processes and workflows.

Propose, develop, and lead the implementation of new and ongoing process improvement initiatives.

Design and oversee the procurement and installation of new machinery.

Troubleshoot and resolve production challenges and delays to meet our scaling objectives.

Recommend and implement changes to product designs to improve assembly and manufacturing efficiency.

Collaborate with suppliers to advise on and develop various manufacturing technologies, including stamping, welding, assembly, and plastics manufacturing processes.
The Ideal Candidate

  • 7 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, with a strong understanding of design for manufacturing, including mechanical, electrical, and robotics integration.
You have a proven track record in designing and implementing assembly lines or other manufacturing systems.

You are capable of conducting industrial engineering analyses to ensure we meet our scaling objectives.

You are enthusiastic about working on a developing project, growing alongside the company, and shaping its future.

CAD Software:
Proficiency in Solidworks or CATIA for equipment design, and AutoCAD or similar for layout planning.

You are comfortable with uncertainty and willing to learn from mistakes and adapt.

You can effectively communicate complex ideas and technical concepts to a diverse audience, including technicians and associates involved in product assembly.

Values such as openness, curiosity, and a relentless drive for improvement are essential.

You possess strong project management skills and the ability to deliver results on time.

Also Helps If You Have:

Experience with various manufacturing technologies, including roll forming, stamping, and plastics manufacturing processes.

A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Experience in taking a product from concept to mass production.

Experience in designing a factory layout from the ground up.
