Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing process development and leadership, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and launch of new manufacturing production lines, ensuring they are brought up to production readiness according to program requirements.
  • Coordinate prototype manufacturing activities, including prototyping, purchasing/logistics, schedule, budget, etc.
  • Provide a forecast for CAPEX expenditures (tooling, fixturing, test equipment, etc.)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across a matrix of functions throughout the program/projects.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the NPI process to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and drive to implementation.
  • Identify and clearly communicate potential manufacturing risks associated with NPI and develop mitigation plans to address them proactively.
  • Create and maintain AME deliverables related to new production, such as PFD, PFMEA, QCP, manufacturing BOMs, etc.
  • Participate in design and DFA/DFM reviews to influence design regarding manufacturability.
  • Serve as liaison between contract manufacturer (CM), engineering, and procurement when developing component packaging requirements.
  • Support company initiatives, including cost reduction and quality targets.
  • Travel 25-75% time, depending on the stage of production maturity, including possible international travel.
Requirements
  • 7+ years' experience in a manufacturing NPI or process engineering role.
  • Experience leading manufacturing engineers in an NPI environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with high-volume, low-mix production.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing metrics, such as OEE and yield, and experience establishing or tracking KPIs.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to form opinions based on data aggregation.
  • Knowledge of quality methods and requirements, including APQP or stage gate release processes, ISO9001, TS16949, and global OEM development systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent education.
  • Ability to travel to CM locations with little advanced notice.
