About the Role

Alera Group is seeking an experienced Benefits Account Manager to join our Employee Benefits team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the placement and service of employee benefits for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with our advisors and staff to onboard new business and complete renewal processes by following workflow procedures and best practices.
  • Maintain complete client files, including policy information, activities, attachments, and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with our advisors and internal departments to execute the service strategy for each client.
  • Assist in the RFP process, compare carrier proposals, and provide a summary of programs and options to support clients in making decisions about insurance programs.
  • Develop and deliver Open Enrollment and New Hire presentations.
  • Stay current on vendor/carrier plans and programs, industry trends, and legislation.
  • Follow client service workflows and engage internal resources as necessary.
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide professional support via multiple channels of communication.
  • Provide excellent service and support for internal and external clients.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and insurance carriers.
  • Knowledge of medical, dental, vision, and ancillary benefits is required.
  • Microsoft Office experience is required, with HRIS system familiarity a plus.
  • The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have a sense of urgency, be a problem solver and team player, be organized and able to multi-task, and be an excellent communicator.
